I see misty for me

I see misty for me
I see misty for me

Ok, another couple of days have passed before I post a image again… I’m not lazy but sometimes I have to forget what I do want and do the things I can and sometimes must do for someone else. I don’t mind and I hope you won’t either! I took this a few days back during my late shift. I like the vibe, cinema like!

Photographed at Rotterdam Central station

The look of a early shift

Start of the shift. Carnisselande, line nr. 25, direction Schiebroek. I took this early in the morning. Its fall so dark, lonely and quiet. This place is both a start and end of the line.

P.S. This line runs from Barendrecht to Rotterdam-Schiebroek. So technically Barendrecht but the tram is and goes to Rotterdam, so a bit of artistic freedom!

Still a long way to go…

I took this picture at metrostop Wilhelminaplein. Through this entrance you have to use the treadmill just like at airports! No crowds, it will take a while before everything returns to normal use in public transport …

A thank you from work

I received these flowers by mail. A thank you from work for keeping the public transport available as much as we can.

Public transport is still running remotely for any distance …

The tram still runs, but really only for really necessary travel. On the door on the right you will see a sticker saying “keep 1.5 meters away!”. Spring has never been so beautiful and strange.

No queue

Due to social distance measures, no no long queue at the stops.

If you have to go to the other side of Rotterdam Centraal, the train station, you can go either trough the station, using your public transport subscription card or for free and without the gates pass the station trough the tunnel beside the station. I took this picture in 2018, so from the archives, but I like it!

Two out of nine

You can find these nine eyes traffic lights everywhere in Rotterdam. Nine eyes? Thats the nickname for them, they are used by the public transport as busses and trams! Now there are two red lights, so stop! And when the bus or tram can go they light two white lights for the direction that is now free to go! Example: you go to the right, a white light left under corner and a light right upper corner show you the go. Do you have nine eyes traffic lights in your city?

P.S. Sorry for the late post, to busy at work!

Early tram stop

Yesterday morning had the most beautiful light compared with the light during the last weeks! And at the tram stop Museumpark I took this (to me) nice picture! You can find this tram stop at line number 7, direction Willemsplein. Nearby the museums as the Kunsthal, Boymans and the Witte de With straat, a populair spot for entertainment, bars, restaurants etc. worth a visit!

Beurs Metro Station

I use the Rotterdam metro quite often. It is easy to reach all hotspots in Rotterdam and moreover the metro runs all the way to The Hague and recently to Hoek van Holland harbor, almost to the beach! All from the center of Rotterdam! This is metro station Beurs (detail) in the middle of the city with one of the subway cars used for the Randstad Rail connections.

Travelling to The Hague? Take the E-line, direction Den Haag
Travelling to Hoek van Holland harbor? Take the B-line, direction Hoek van Holland

Missed

This sticker was put on the pole of a traffic light. Its a poem of a sort. I try to translate it to English:

Missed
I miss him. I miss him. I miss him.
I miss him. I miss him. I miss him.
Now I have to wait fifteen minutes for the next one.

As a employee of the public transport in Rotterdam I like the humor of it. Written by Doris Schakenbos who writes many of them, you find more here>>
Picture of the poem taken by Sarah Richter and kindly send to me!

Rotterdam Centraal stairs going up and down

I took this picture a few days ago, the stairs up to the square in front of Rotterdam Centraal, the public transport hub of Rotterdam. Trains, metro, busses and trams, all there to find. Last days of the summer holidays so still no crowds! I like the tranquility here. Have a nice weekend all!

P.S. And I know, stairs are going down too, to the metro and train platforms 🙂

Using public transport, the tram

Busy day at work today, but you can still enjoy the vacation vibe as seen in this picture. Almost nobody aboard of this tram at tramstop Spangen…
